Phobias and fears
After weight loss and smoking cessation hypnosis is most wildly used to eliminate phobias and fears. Phobias such as emetophobia, flying, spiders, snakes even escalators. Fears can cause sheer panic in a person, the experience of the sufferer is so real it can blight their lives. It requires a special understanding because the fears that they are experiencing so often feel inexplicable to the rational mind. The solution in these cases is hypnosis. After one session I no longer have a phobia of spiders. After a lifetime of panic and screams, I am now able to pick one up.
How many of us fear the dentist? I know, I work in a dental surgery and I have seen so many people feeling so frightened to go that they leave it until it becomes a danger to their health, then they are left with little option but to have their teeth extracted. All this could be prevented with the use of hypnosis.
Anxiety / Worry / Panic Attacks / Stress
Panic attacks are difficult to control because it happens unconsciously, so people have very little control over it. Using hypnosis we can re-educate your unconscious mind to understand that you really are in no danger. Hypnosis allows you to control your anxiety levels much more easily. Reminding your body how to relax and to stay relaxed more often.
Claustrophobia
Claustrophobia - the fear of enclosed spaces - can be a terribly debilitating condition. Many people think that it only involves elevators or other small spaces, but in fact many people find they can be overcome by claustrophobia in a large space. The problem tends to spread so that people find they are thinking ahead to avoid any situation that might trigger their claustrophobia, limiting their life experiences. Hypnosis will 'retrain your brain' to be as comfortable in enclosed spaces as other people so that it does not need to generate anxiety responses for you. Hypnosis is so effective for doing this because it keeps you calm and relaxed while distantly reviewing any difficult situations or experiences, so teaching your mind to respond differently. As this happens, you will begin to feel different about the thought of situations that used to be frightening, and going back into them will feel 'do-able'.
Nail Biting
Nail biting is the habit of biting one's fingernails or even toenails during periods of nervousness, stress, hunger, or boredom. It can be obsessive compulsive or can even be a completely unconscious act where the affected person is not or barely aware of the behavior whilst performing it. It has been documented that some people bite their nails in their sleep, sometimes exclusively. This has been linked to stress while dreaming or stress from the dream, or simply stress in general. It is considered to be the most widespread form of mild self mutilation. Using hypnosis we can stop you from nail biting.
Enuresis In Children (Bedwetting)
Bedwetting is an issue that millions of families face every night. It is extremely common among children under the age of 6, and it can last into the preteen years. Doctors don't know for sure what causes bedwetting or why it stops. But it is considered a natural part of development, and children eventually grow out of it. All the same, bedwetting can be very stressful for families. Children can feel embarrassed and guilty about wetting the bed and anxious about spending the night at a friend's house or at sleepovers. Parents often feel helpless to stop it. Primary enuresis, the medical name for bedwetting, typically starts when kids are toddlers. It is very common among kids who are 6 years old or younger. About 15% of 6-year-olds wet the bed. And about 5% of 10 year-olds wet the bed. Using hypnosis is one way to stop bedwetting.
